Terms & Conditions

Introduction

John J Doyle Ltd. is a family-run business with over 95 years of expertise.  Our commitment to quality, safety, and customer service is unwavering. These terms and conditions outline our policies regarding product warranties, service callouts, and liability, ensuring that our customers receive the highest level of service and support.

Service Callouts

  • There is a callout charge for all service-related callouts. The fee will be determined by John J Doyle Ltd. at the time of the request.
  • If a fault is found to be a manufacturing issue covered under the product's warranty, the callout charge will be refunded.

Warranty Terms and Conditions

  • General Warranty: All products supplied by John J Doyle Ltd. are covered by a standard manufacturer's warranty, which is typically one year in accordance with EU regulations.
  • Product-Specific Warranties: Specific warranty periods and conditions apply to different product categories. Customers should refer to the individual product for detailed warranty information.
  • Activation: To activate the full warranty on certain products, customers may be required to register the product online with the manufacturer within a specified timeframe. Failure to do so may void the extended warranty.
  • Warranty Claims: All warranty claims must be reported to John J Doyle Ltd. and include proof of purchase and, where relevant, the product's serial number.

Flue Liners and Systems

  • Flue liners and systems are covered by the manufacturer's warranty against manufacturing defects.
  • The warranty does not cover damage caused by incorrect installation, misuse, or external factors such as chimney fire or improper fuel usage.

Stoves

  • Warranty Period: The warranty period for the main body of the stove is determined by the manufacturer. (e.g., John J Doyle offers a 5-year warranty on the main body of their room heater stoves).
  • Consumable Parts: Parts that are subject to normal wear and tear, such as gaskets, glass, firebricks, grates, and baffle plates, are not typically covered under the long-term warranty.
  • Glass: There is no warranty on glass, except in the first year in the case of thermal shock.

Gas and Electric Fires

  • Exclusive Brands: As the exclusive distributor for brands like Wildfire and Be Modern, the warranty for these products is subject to the terms and conditions of those respective manufacturers.
  • Warranty Periods: Electric fires typically come with a standard one-year warranty. Some brands may offer extended warranties upon product registration.
  • Installation: All appliances must be installed in accordance with the manufacturer's installation instructions. Any damage caused by incorrect installation or maintenance is not covered under warranty.

Marble & Natural Stone

  • We do not offer a warranty on fireplaces. In the event of a manufacturing fault, the issue will be investigated on a case-by-case basis. We reserve the right to repair or replace the product at our discretion.
  • We do not cover installation or re-fitting costs for fireplaces or any other product. This is a crucial point to make clear to customers, as highlighted by your competitor's terms.

General Exclusions from Warranty

  • Damage to any part of the product caused by over-firing or using unsuitable fuel.
  • Damage caused by external factors such as un-adopted chimneys, dampness, faulty plumbing, or mistreatment.
  • Issues arising from failure to perform annual maintenance as recommended by the manufacturer.
  • Incidental or consequential damages, including injury to persons or property.
  • Labor costs associated with installation or repairs unless explicitly authorized by John J Doyle Ltd. in writing.
  • Rust on any part of the product unless reported to John J Doyle Ltd. on the delivery date.

Customer Responsibility

  • Customers are responsible for ensuring that all appliances are installed by a qualified professional in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions and all relevant building regulations. Responsibility for proper installation rests with the customer or their chosen installer.
  • Customers are responsible for providing proof of purchase and a valid serial number when making a warranty claim.
